Tesla Model Y Review: 4 Months Later

Tesla’s newest car, the Model Y, has been out for a little over 4 Months, and I took delivery right at the end of March. It’s a great car, and this is the follow up to my original review video because since that video, I’ve been through quite a bit with this car, both good and bad, and want to give you an updated owners’ experience 4 months later. The first, and biggest thing that has change is that Tesla has already done a Model Y price drop. For the AWD model, which is what I bought, and has been the cheapest Model Tesla is selling, the price has dropped to $49,990, $3000 less than what it was at launch. For the performance Model, the price has dropped to $59,990, which is $1000 less than launch. At the original Model Y announcement event, Tesla told us about a standard range Model Y, and Long Range RWD Model Y. Standard Range Model Y has been canceled, and RWD is being made and cheaper. On top of that lowered price, which is around $3000 less than it was announced at, the RWD Model Y should get more range than the AWD with people estimating anywhere up to 335 miles of range based on the previously available LR RWD Model 3. Tesla has started a Model Y lease which starts at $499/mo, which isn’t half bad. However, you have to put down $4500, and don’t have the option to buy at the end of the lease since Tesla plans to take the car back, and use it for their Robotaxi fleet. Ultimately it took 4 separate appointments to fix all of the issues I had with my Model Y and receive all of the parts for the necessary repairs, but now my car is as good as new, or actually better than new. This wasn’t great for a brand new car. The Model Y is Tesla’s follow up to the Model 3 and looks very similar. At its core, the Model Y is a fully electric car that can go 316 miles on a charge, can have a 0-60 of 3.5 seconds depending on which model you get, and has 68 cubic feet of cargo space. In the Model Y 5 seater, you can do a few different rear seat configurations, and a personal favorite of many people is being able to fold just the middle seat and use it as a passthrough for long cargo. Overall, the best feature of this car is the fact that it is electric. Electric cars drive different, smoother, quieter, and faster, and Tesla has optimized their electric drive train to be the indisputable champion when it comes to Electric cars. On top of that, this car is nearly silent, and smells great, because it is zero emissions. Some features the Model Y has that only electric cars can have include Tesla Sentry Mode, the security system that records any suspicious activity around the car. For me, the main things that set Teslas, and the model Y apart from other electric vehicles is their efficiency, range, charging network, and Full self-driving systems. When it comes to efficiency and range, nobody has beaten Tesla. The Model S now has an EPA range of 400 miles, and the Model Y has a top range of 316 miles as I mentioned before. And then, my favorite feature, Tesla Autopilot. Tesla’s confusingly named driver assistance feature that is included on all Teslas. Tesla’s built in Autopilot system includes great safety features to prevent accidents, as well as adaptive cruise control and Autosteer. Tesla also sells their Full Self Driving package. Overall, these features are good, but not great. They are all technically considered beta features, and Tesla sells this package with the promise of future features and updates that will improve it and make it better and better.

Tesla Model Y Racing! UP Sets Fastest SUV Lap Record at Buttonwillow Raceway

This Unplugged Performance tuned Tesla Model Y just set a blazing fast lap time of 2:01.9 on prototype suspension and brake upgrades. In context the UP tuned Model Y is faster around Buttonwillow than the fastest registered lap time of the Porsche 997 911 Turbo and within half a second of the 997 GT3 track tuned car. All of this done in a crossover SUV that the night before comfortably allowed a full size mattress and a good night’s sleep at the track’s camp site. Good luck trying that in the Porsche! This new lap record for the Tesla Model Y joins the existing all time fastest Tesla lap record at Buttonwillow of a 1:54 in a Tesla Model 3 (The XPO Sales car managed by Remo Weber and driven by Joshua Allan utilizing all tuning parts by Unplugged Performance). Tesla Can't Fix My Model Y

Tesla is full steam ahead, back at it making cars, which is a double-edged sword. The Model Y is being delivered with lots of issues. ► My Favorite Tesla Model Y Accessories: https://bit.ly/3cFR3Gg ► Model Y Tow Hitch: https://bit.ly/2yc5Idp ► Jeda Dock & Charging Pad: https://bit.ly/3bJPSUY ► Model Y Paint Issues: https://youtu.be/xysbrHCNlpI ► Receive FREE Supercharging credit when you order a Tesla using my referral link ➡️https://ts.la/ryan51525 ► How I Film My Videos: https://amzn.to/30lwfi4 , https://amzn.to/2slSKqy ► How I Film Drone Shots: https://amzn.to/2NkEDc9 ► How I Record Audio: https://amzn.to/2uCOPWV ► The Mic I Use: https://amzn.to/2QJM130 ► Try Audible and Get Two Free Audiobooks: https://amzn.to/39Zlp5E ► Try Amazon Prime for FREE: https://amzn.to/30dM2ze ► Try Robinhood and Get a FREE Stock: join.robinhood.com/ryans845 ► Exclusive Bluehost Web Hosting Discount: https://www.bluehost.com/track/ryanshaw/ Bottom line: Tesla delivers cars with issues. Their quality control isn’t the best, and almost nobody will argue that point. For most owners, the overall experience is great, and well worth it to have the best electric cars with features like autopilot. There are many Model Y Issues, and Model Y Problems. Tesla’s Answer to this is Service appointments. At my first appointment: There were a couple of areas around the car where paint was missing. To fix this, Tesla actually ended up sending it to a contracted paint shop to fix the issues. They fixed it, but left some swirl marks. 2. The second issue I had was the rear seat alignment. It’s pretty clear that the right seat sits further forward, at a different angle, and higher. Tesla told me that they don’t have a fix for this yet, since the new Model Y was so new. 3. The trim on the top, connecting to the glass roof came kind of loose, and seemed to not be adhered correctly. Tesla tried to fix this, but overall it just kind of ended up being the same. The first thing I tried to fix at my next service appointment again was the rear seat alignment. Again, same issue. Tesla said that they don’t have a fix for this issue yet. Pretty frustrating. 2. The second Model Y issue I was having was that the frunk was showing that it was open, when it wasn’t. Tesla replaced the sensor and the latch for the front trunk. The issue has come back though… 3. The third issue I had was when the window didn’t roll down properly. It caused a gash on the trim from not rolling down. Tesla replaced the trim for free, and it looks good, except the back kind of has this new gap, so yeah…it’s fixed, but also worse back here? I’ll probably mention it at another appointment. 4. The fourth issue I had was that the rear headrests would squeak whenever I hit a bump. Tesla fixed it! 5. The fifth issue was a rattle in the rear seats. Since they aren’t aligned properly, they buzz together when I hit a bump. Tesla again said they couldn’t fix this, but this time said they do have a solution, that is being shipped. 6. I mentioned to Tesla that the car kind of has this settling sound when the car is any amount of uneven, going into a steep driveway or anything. I actually forgot about this issues, and don’t think Tesla addressed it, because it is still there. 7. The front headlight had this issue where it would push in really easily. I noticed it when I was washing the car, and it wasn’t the same on the other side. Tesla fixed this, but it was still there when I saw it. Then I pressed on it, and it fixed it? About an hour after the appointment, I noticed that this trim wasn’t aligned correctly, at the driver’s side, and that there was some kind of stain on the back of the rear seat. Now the general consensus for Tesla service seems to be that it can be good if it is close. Overall, mine has been decent. However, there will always be exceptions. I’ve seen plenty of people on Twitter, who own multiple Teslas, and have gotten fed up with their service. If you’re planning to buy a Model Y, or are taking delivery soon, here is what I would look out for. First, if you’re picky about fit and finish, check out a Model Y in person. If it’s good, you can always reject delivery if it doesn’t live up to your expectations. Second, If you think the good will outweigh the bad for you, which I personally think would be the case for most people, here’s what to check for when taking delivery to ensure they have it on record. The rear seat alignment that I mentioned Is a common Tesla Model Y problem Paint issues, mostly where it is missing like it was for me. Noises and buzzes while driving Ensure that the rear seats collapse properly when you press the buttons in the rear. Ensure that the trunk opens and closes properly. Look for any scratches on the plastic in the car. Look for any areas where the trim isn’t applied properly to the roof. Make sure that the drivers side window functions properly.

Tesla Model Y Review: Good & Bad After Two Months

The Tesla Model Y is here, I’ve had it for about two months, and driven 2000 miles, and today I’m giving my full review of the car. ► Model Y Tow Hitch: https://bit.ly/2yc5Idp ► Teslacam Drive by Pure Tesla: https://bit.ly/2Ti2QD7 ► Jeda Dock & Charging Pad: https://bit.ly/3bJPSUY ► My Favorite Tesla Accessories: https://bit.ly/3cFR3Gg ► Model Y Paint Issues: https://youtu.be/xysbrHCNlpI ► Receive FREE Supercharging credit when you order a Tesla using my referral link ➡️https://ts.la/ryan51525 ► How I Film My Videos: https://amzn.to/30lwfi4 , https://amzn.to/2slSKqy ► How I Film Drone Shots: https://amzn.to/2NkEDc9 ► How I Record Audio: https://amzn.to/2uCOPWV ► The Mic I Use: https://amzn.to/2QJM130 ► Try Audible and Get Two Free Audiobooks: https://amzn.to/39Zlp5E ► Try Amazon Prime for FREE: https://amzn.to/30dM2ze ► Try Robinhood and Get a FREE Stock: join.robinhood.com/ryans845 ► Exclusive Bluehost Web Hosting Discount: https://www.bluehost.com/track/ryanshaw/ The Model Y is Tesla’s follow up to the very successful Model 3, announced in March of 2019. The base Model of the Model Y is set to come out in 2021, and start around $40,000. I purchased the Long Range AWD Model Y which now starts at $52,990 and gets 316 miles of range. I also purchased the 20” black Induction wheels which run an extra $2000, as well as the Model Y Red paint upgrade which runs an extra $2000 as well. Now since I ordered back in October when the prices were a little lower, the total cost of my Model Y came to $55,500, plus the required Tesla Destination fee of $1,200 for a total of $56,700 before tax. After tax and Registration fees, my Grand total came to: $60,179.75 Regarding music, the Tesla Model Y sound system is incredible, and one of the best systems I’ve heard in any car. Unfortunately, Model Y Spotify integration is pretty terrible. No more dealership software upgrades. Tesla sends out regular software updates over the air just like you get on your phone or computer. Regarding Tesla Model Y Safety. Tesla achieved 5 stars in every category for safety, making it the safest car ever tested by the NHTSA. Tesla expects the Model Y to be no different, and we should hopefully hear those results soon. The standard package includes emergency braking, collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring, but the big two are traffic-aware cruise control, and autosteer. I recently did a Model Y road trip of 700 miles round trip to Arizona and used autopilot for the majority of the drive, and it was fantastic. Now if you don’t want autosteer, you can drive with just traffic aware cruise control to maintain your speed, and react to the cars around you while you steer, and I’ve never had an issue with this. But, if you really want to go for it, and love self driving, you can get Tesla’s full self driving upgrade for an extra $7000. Tesla’s goal is to have the Model Y, as it is right now, be capable of becoming a Robotaxi within the next couple of years via software updates. Model Y Launch is amazing at 4.8 seconds 0-60 in my car. Now the big question with electric cars is…how annoying is it to do Model Y charging? Well, it’s actually the opposite of annoying, it’s incredibly convenient. It’s missing a good blind spot detection system in the mirrors. Those mirrors are pretty short, and don’t show you as much as I’d like to see in my mirrors. The rear visibility is pretty bad, and results in me thinking cars are closer than they really are, since I can only see the top of them. The center console comes glossy, which means that it has pretty bad glare at certain times of day, and is the definition of a finger print magnet. The glovebox can only be opened with the button on screen, which is two taps to get to, and the voice command listed on Tesla’s website does not work. The air conditioning is a little complex to get to and adjust when driving, even though it is overall cool. The interior ambient lights are almost non-existant, and provide hardly any light The app can be buggy, leaving me to walk up to the car, open the handle, and have nothing happen, until I then pull out my phone, open the Tesla app, and it unlocks. It also seems to have more difficulty since both mine and my wife’s phones are connected. Spotify integration is pretty bad as I mentioned before, leading me to not use the app on screen Auto brights are a little too aggressive for me, turning on when I don’t really need them just because no cars are around. I turned them off. The bad I have is Model Y Paint issues, Model Y rear seat alignment. There is a bug with the front trunk. The trim is cheap and loose inside, the window didn’t open properly and caused a gash, there are panel gaps, and a few other alignment issues. #Tesla #TeslaModelY #ModelY #ModelYTesla Topics Covered: Tesla Model Y Cargo Space Tesla Model Y vs Model 3 Tesla Model 3 vs Model Y Tesla Model Y Review Tesla Model Y Battery Tesla Model Y 0-60 Tesla Model Y Interior

Tesla Model Y | Review & Road Test

For the latest Tesla Model Y pricing and information: https://www.kbb.com/tesla/model-y/ The 2020 Tesla Model Y is a compact electric SUV build from the same foundation at Tesla’s Model 3 sedan. Kelley Blue Book’s Micah Muzio got his hands on a new Model Y and shares his impressions in this review. Born from the Model 3 the Tesla Model Y is a compact electric SUV with a maximum 316-mile range according to the EPA, and a starting price around $54,000 ($54,190) for the long-range model, including $1,200 in destination charges. The Performance model, like our tester, is $8-grand more. But aren’t 0-60 times of 3.5 seconds worth it? A roughly $40,000 standard Model should arrive sometime in 2021.
